Susan Lamontagne: "2 Cents of Advice" from a "CAT"?

Our friend Susan Lamontagne as “Demeter” (photo, she’s the one on her knee) in the broadway show, Cats!

Thank you Susan for your great input with the question:
What are your thoughts about the West Side Story article? (see “The Show Must Go On” in this blog below)

“hey Peter. I was just reading the WSS (West Side Story) article! Wow!

We’ve all worked with these types of performers that get the gig and then don’t feel dedicated, saying this is “not the work I’m looking for right now”….but again without the attitude of “the show must go on.”

My advise…..hmmm, As actors we follow our hearts and passions into a field that is a gift. It is challenging and demanding – physically, spiritually and emotionally. But we do it because it is a part of who we are. I always instill in the actors/dancers I work with that if you are going to commit…it has to be 100+ everytime. That is what moves mountains and takes us and those watching us to a new place.

Also, I remind them that there are 1,000 people who would kill to be in there shoes and not to waste the opportunity. If you aren’t going to give it your all then step aside and enjoy performing or dancing as a hobby not a profession. Ok…so now I’ll step off my soap box.”
Thanks Susan for you great input!

A quick Bio about Susan…
