10 Keys to Building The Confidence of a Champion
1) Build a base of Confidence – the first to building confidence is to build a strong base of confidence. In order to have a Champion’s confidence you need to have the capability to be confident, and that starts with your commitment to always be learning. Becoming good at something and becoming confident is just a matter of learning how to do it and practicing it.
2) Practice Confidence – Being confident is something you can learn just like anything else in school. It takes practice! Everyday you should practice being confident, walk with confidence, speak with confidence and trust your decisions and judgement with confidence. Confidence comes from having lots of practice in the area of being confident.
3) Become GREAT! – Show your confidence in action. Find something that you are good at and become great at it. Remember the first two rules so far. You have to always be learning and to practice constantly. Using these two things you will become great at something using your Champion’s confidence.
4) A Champion has lots of options – Being confident means you are in control of your emotions. A confident person has to eliminate stress and one of the key factors to stress is uncertainty. Eliminate uncertainty by having lots of options for yourself. With many options at your disposal you will always feel in control of the situation and when you’re in control of the situation you are confident in yourself and your abilities.
5) Train Like a Champion – A champion constantly performs to the very best of their abilities and strives for excellence. A champion is never happy just sitting and waiting; a champion is always looking for new ways to learn and grow. They give 110% effort in everything they do. Some people will just try to keep things normal or focus on making sure things don’t go wrong. A Champion’s only focus is becoming better and better no matter what!
6) Failure is NOT an OPTION! – A Champion acts as if failure in a thing; they have no clue to what the word means. For many people the fear of failure limits their thoughts, abilities and actions. A Champion acts as if failure was impossible; they take chances, dream big, and follow through on their actions. A Champion is not afraid to embark upon any challenge or try new things.
7) Surround yourself with Champions – One of the secret ways a confident person becomes more confident is by surrounding themself with other confident people. A Champion surrounds themself with other positive people. Other poeple’s positive energy will build your confidence and your positive energy will build other people’s confidence.
8) A Champion is NEVER DEFEATED – A true Champion never accepts defeat. Anytime something does not go according to plan it is merely a new way to learn. When something does not go right do not complain or feel bad for yourself. You nee to STOP and listen to the world around you, these are the moments when the world is trying to teach you a valuable lesson. Make sure you listen!
9) Champion’s have VISION – A Champion is always creating beautiful pictures in their head. They create pictures of what they want their life to be, and what goals they want to accomplish. They are confident in their abilities and visualize their goals being accomplished. This way if something does not go according to plan, a Champion never loses the picture in their head of their goal.
10) “Fake It ’til You Make It” – People will not follow a leader they perceive to have no confidence. Even if you are unsure or scared of a certain outcome, stand tall and be confident. Speak with confidence and act confident no matter what the situation is. You need to be a leader and eventually you will figure out how to solve the problem. People do not know what is happening inside you; they can only see what’s happening on the outside. So no matter what, be confident in everything you do, even if you don’t “feel” confident.
