This morning, I woke up thinking about how many times in my life I’ve felt like I was on the edge.
Not the edge of greatness.
The edge of burnout. Of giving up. Of questioning everything.
But something always pulled me back.
Sometimes it was a conversation at just the right time.
Other times it was an unexpected opportunity… or a quiet whisper in my spirit reminding me to keep going.
You are not walking this road alone.
This week, as we explore the idea of being connected to something greater than self, I want to talk about guidance.
The kind we can’t always explain.
The kind we don’t control.
The kind that shows up when we need it most.
A Story from the Road
There was a moment years ago, in the middle of one of the biggest transitions in my life, where I was sitting alone in a hotel room overseas. I had just closed my karate school after running out of money, and I was back in Germany performing in Starlight Express to try to get us financially back on our feet.
I remember feeling like a failure.
I was far from home. Renee was pregnant. And everything I thought I had built felt like it had fallen apart.
But that night… something shifted.
I had this overwhelming sense—not of panic, but of peace. As if something was saying, “You’re right where you need to be. Keep going.”
That was guidance. And it gave me just enough strength to take the next step.
What Guidance Feels Like
Guidance doesn’t always come with clarity.
Sometimes it comes with quiet.
It might feel like a small nudge.
An inner knowing.
A message from someone out of the blue.
A door that opens when you weren’t even knocking.
The more we slow down and listen, the more we start to recognize those moments for what they are:
evidence that we’re not doing this alone.
Tuning In
I believe that life is always trying to teach us something.
And when we open ourselves to the idea that something greater is walking with us, we become more aware of the signs, the people, and the moments that guide us forward.
Sometimes it’s through faith.
Sometimes it’s through struggle.
But the guidance is there.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
You just need to take the next step—and be willing to listen.
Final Thought
Today, take a moment.
Breathe.
Slow down.
And ask yourself:
Where am I being guided right now?
And am I listening?
Because even when you feel lost…
You’re not alone.
Let’s keep Living Strong—together, and guided.
